Can every tattoo be treated?
Most tattoos can be treated. Blue, green and purple are harder, but their three-wavelength laser is designed to work across the full spectrum of colours over a course of treatments.
Does it hurt?
Pain tolerance differs from person to person. Most people describe it as an elastic band snapping against the skin, and a Zimmer Cryo 6 cooling machine numbs the area first.
How many treatments will I need?
It depends on the tattoo’s size, colours, ink density, your skin type and your health. The number is estimated at your free consultation.
How long does a session take?
Only a few minutes for the treatment itself.
What is recovery like?
Expect a bandage for about three hours, and possible swelling or redness for one to three days. The area feels like a sunburn.
How far apart are treatments?
Usually four weeks at first, then six, and sometimes eight towards the end, so the body has time to clear the ink.
Can you lighten a tattoo for a cover-up?
Yes. Lightening — “cleaning the canvas” — fades an existing tattoo enough for a new one to go over it.
Can minors be treated?
Yes, with parental consent.
